  • Spooked by your business? You’re not alone!

Posted October 30, 2015 by Eden Lovejoy

Owning and leading a business is often one of the most rewarding experiences around.  But sometimes it is one of the most frightening and lonely experiences you can imagine.  If you own a business you’ve probably been there.  That moment when you’re not sure how you’re going to make payroll.  The conversation with an anchor client who is heading in another direction (or who won’t return your calls!).  The day a key employee who you thought would be a great candidate for your successor decides to leave the company.

If you’re sitting in your office wondering what you’re going to do next and somehow found this blog, you’re in the right place.  You see, I talk to business owners and leaders every day who have been where you are.  I’ve been there myself!  The reality is that business is a roller coasterFear Umbrella ride of up and down and every business owner I’ve ever worked with has had those moments of doubt, uncertainty and confusion.  And the way to successful business leadership is one filled with lessons in resilience, dedication and commitment.  So just for today, take comfort in the knowledge that “that which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” and turn your attention to the next indicated thing.  Whether that’s reaching out to another business owner to brainstorm strategies, or simply taking care of customers for a few hours to reconnect with the reason you started this business in the first place.  Do something to change the dynamic of the moment and tap into the reserves that have brought you this far.

And as always, let me know if I can help!
